This is taking me some time to decide.
1) "Mirror, Mirror" (an early dip into an alternate universe!)
2) "Balance of Terror" (hard to beat original Starship/submarine combat in space)
3) "Spectre of the Gun" (pure fun, intelligent and wild)
4) "The Squire of Gothos"
5) "The Doomsday Machine" (perhaps had the best guest star, William Windom, playing Commodore Decker)
The, not-in-order, overflow of favorite Star Trek episodes:
"Shore Leave"
"Space Seed"
"Amok Time"
"The Trouble with Tribbles"
"A Private Little War"
"The Omega Glory"
"The Ultimate Computer"
"Bread and Circuses"
"The Tholian Web"
"The Savage Curtain"
And quite a few more that I didn't add to my 'Narrow Down List'.
