Thanks, that's great if we'll be getting it on basic cable here.

I'm going to give a whirl although I wished they wouldn't keep circling around TOS like this. I'm not a fan of TNG but it's popular IMO because it had such a fresh canvas.

^Paramount really doesn't want anyone to watch this, apparently. Trailers blocked. Subscription required to watch it.

Too much hassle, too little interest for me.

Easy pass. I'll stick with reruns.

              Yeah that's dumb, it's a trailer.

There was a fair amount of criticism around the tailer production quality. Not the show, but the actual cut. I tend to agree it's very jaggy.

I consider shows like this to be "rack toys"

It's like all we need is the name Star Trek and we can put it on stuff like toy western colt 45's and bag-o-dinosaurs.

I wish it wasn't another prequel. It was the perfect time to do something new.

Yeah, I tend to agree . This would probably be better accepted if it was set say five to ten years after TOS?

I would agree that this would have been a decent series (maybe) to fill in the some of the gaps and chronicle some of the events after Kirk but before Picard. Truth to tell, I wish they'd've considered a show revolving around the ENTERPRISE C; that was one badarse design.

Would've also been cool to have seen the series in a post-Borg dominated Federation with said Federation and their allies/enemies acting in not-always harmonious unison to find a way to defeat them pesky cybernetic organisms. Would've been interesting to see which civilizations would resist The Borg and which ones would collude...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I don't see that much new or interesting and I'm not sure I really get what the show is about. I haven't ruled it out yet, but there's not much attracting me to it.

I looks like a good cast. I hope they give them something to do.

Doesn't look very Star Trekkie yet. But it does look like a decent enough sci-fi show.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Both of those ideas are cool! The Star Trek Universe is Endless, instead of "Discovering" (whatever the hell that is even supposed to mean), work with and build upon the material you have! So few tv execs seem to understand this concept and are surprised when their unrelated reboot fails.

I'd always thought the term Klingon refers to the species, but apparently they're like Romans: open-minded enough to include any species of citizen within the empire, because those guys look nothing like Klingons of any sort.
