    Powers Boothe RIP

    Man, only 68 years old...

Powers Boothe, an Emmy-winning character actor whose credits included “Nashville,” “The Avengers” and “Deadwood,” died Sunday at age 68. Powers died in his sleep this morning of natural causes. Donations can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which honors the nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need.

Great character actor, loved him in Tombstone...along with various other roles.

    RIP...

I always liked him. Very strong actor who could overpower other charismatic actors. Curly Bill from Tombstone always comes to mind first for me too.

He had a lot of geek cred as well. He voiced Gorilla Grodd on Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, voiced Lex Luthor at one point in a Superman Animated direct to DVD film, and of course was the leader of the shadowy
"Council" Nick Fury spoke to in The Avengers.

      RIP.

A very commanding actor. I just watched Frailty after Bill Paxton psssed. Like Hector said, I first remember him from playing Jim Jones. It was a truly great performance. Sad news.

I absolutely loved him in the film "Southern Comfort." I loved the tag-line: "It is the land of hospitality, unless you don't belong." He was also wonderful in "The Emerald Forest" which was based on a true story -- excellent actor!

For me, he's Philip Marlowe from the '80s HBO series. I will miss seeing him on TV and in film.

Think the first thing I remember seeing him in was "Extreme Prejudice" with Nick Nolte....Forgot he was in "Tombstone"...Liked him in "Red Dawn" and "A Breed Apart" with Rutger Hauer, another actor who's stuff I really like....
