    1979 Battle of the Planets

I picked these two up recently. I had to buy them from different people, one in California and the other was in France.

    7-Zark-7 and of course 1-Rover-1

These say copy-write Sandy Frank 1979, so I have to assume that's when they were released, and it appears France might be the only area they were released.

Both have magnets in them so you can push and pull them around, 1-Rover-1 has one in his head and you can make his mouth open and close with the magnet.

A Mark toy is also shown on the box.

That is a really nice pair of BOTP acquisitions. I echo darkbros sentiments regarding the Phoenix, tho! Sweeet!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

It just hit me that if these were released in France, then French TV would have shown dubbed versions of Battle of the Planets rather than the original Japanese Gatchaman. That seems odd to me for some reason.

        Cool toys BTW!

Thanks guys! Yes I just had to sneak a picture of my Phoenix in the picture, it's just about one of my favorite things.

Also yes I assume they were seeing the dubbed versions in France as well.

            Pretty darn neat!

Again, I wish that BOTP/G Force toys would have been released in North America circa 1979. Myself and many other kids would have bought them up.

Epic stuff, I never got my hands on a 7 Zark 7 but i treasure the 1 Rover 1.

Excellent score! BOTP has such great memories for me and many. It's weird for some reason I prefer the vintage G-Force stuff it just seems different in it's feel than the new stuff being produced today.

Would have loved those as a kid. Battle of the Planets remains the only show that I would wake up early for every day.
