But they are founding members of the Defenders. How can they call them the Defenders if Dr Strange and Hulk aren't members too? I remember they all used to hang out at Dr Strange's house in New York City, which is an urban setting.

He's played Stick on both seasons of Daredevil. He's fantastic in the part.

But in a nutshell...

That's the comic books...not everything translates well to TV or film, you know that...

The Netflix superhero shows try to tone down the fantastical aspect a bit...make it more present day New York.

Adding members like Hulk, Silver Surfer, Namor, etc...will just change the dynamic of the entire concept...those superheroes are just too powerful, having them just confined to New York would not work...they need to be more global...and in Silver Surfer's case, more outwardly...beyond the stars. Plus, aside from Namor, all of them have already been featured on the silver screen. The Defenders needed to be condensed...almost out of necessity...the perfect vehicle for lesser known superheroes...let the big boys play at the movies...leave the smaller folks at Netflix...

Silver Surfer, Hulk, and Submariner...would all crush the Hand in 30 seconds, lol.

That's why they wouldn't work on Netflix Defenders.

And if you superpowered the villains...what chance in hell would blind lawyer Daredevil, drunk Jessica Jones, incarcerated Afro-less Luke Cage, and scrawny petulant millennial Iron Fist, have?
