TV Shows that didn't last long but you liked them.
One of my favorites that was cut short...
Brimstone.
John Glover was great in that show, chewing the scenery as the Devil. My and my Dad were both big fans of that show, and were bitterly disappointed when it was cancelled.
Other favorites that were already mentioned: Freaks and Geeks, Firefly, and The Advs. of Brisco County Jr. I loved all of those shows
I will leave off shows like Firefly, that I didn't connect with until after they were canceled...
Otherworld: First show that came to mind. Family enters an alternate dimension and are being hunted by evil government agents. If it wasn't for the internet, I would be sure I imagined this.
Earth Star Voyager: Because space travel takes so long, kids need to be sent on the space mission to save humanity ('natch). I don't know if this technically counts. It was a failed pilot that they aired as a TV movie. But I searched the TV listings religiously for the next episode that would never come.
Flash: The John Wesley Shipp version.
Freaks and Geeks: I agree with what was posted above. Such a great cast, such a great depiction of growing up in that era
Sports Night: Still my favorite Aaron Sorkin show
Andy Richter Controls the Universe / Better Off Ted: They both have the same showrunner and the same oddball humor... and the same short lifespan.
Pushing Daisies: Pie shop owner who can bring the dead back to life by touching them. Quirky and visually beautiful and gone too soon
Almost Human: Karl Urban with an android partner.. the premise seemed hokey, but it worked
The Grinder: Rob Lowe plays a TV lawyer, who comes back home to work with his real-life lawyer brother, Fred Savage. Hilarity ensues

Thanks for the clarification on AMERICAN GOTHIC's broadcast network. Should've remembered it was on the same network as PICKET FENCES, another show which kind of got the short straw after being immensely popular. Loved BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, as well and was sad to see it go even after they killed off Linda Hamilton's Catherine (to this day, a very sad event). I enjoyed POINT PLEASANT, too, but kind of figured with it being on FOX, it would have a short lifespan. QUANTUM LEAP, even though it had three seasons, could have had a much longer run IMHO.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Oh fudge! How could I forget Beauty and the Beast? I have a Vincent poster in my room! I just remembered a couple more:
Tarzan (I think this was either UPN or WB show).
The Mountain
Legacy (this one started me liking Loreena McKennitt who sang the theme song).

Oooohhh! I loved that series. It had so much potential, and it really required you to suspend disbelief when it came to Bennu, and his pursuer.
Then, ABC HAD to give it the 'Tenspeed and Brownshoe' treatment, and kept bouncing it all over the timeslot. Or worst preempting it. No wonder it got cancelled. You don't know HOW ticked off I was at that.
Obviously Firefly, the one show that has at least gotten the deserved cry of injustice.
-the 4400
-REVOLUTION
-Alphas
-Angel: They were cancelled and given 4 episodes to wrap up the series. While the last season was a bit weak, it was still really messed up.
-Dollhouse
-Wicked City: SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!!! I was reeling for days. Cancelled after 3 episodes!
-GALAVANT- Frickin GENIUS show! So underappreciated. The network was "nice" enough to give them a 2nd season so they could wrap things up, but again, so much potential wasted.
I could seriously rant for DAYZ.
Is it just me or do networks just seem cancel happy unless it's a cop/hospital drama or ****ty reality show?
DAMMIT!
This thread gave me the idea to search for what shows are being cancelled this year.
They cancelled Syfy's Incorporated!? I freaking LOVE that show.
Stupid tv execs.

Time to return the favor; TARZAN ran on The WB for 9 episodes and featured Tarzan in NYC (the concrete jungle) and starred Travis Fimmel (who?) as Tarzan, Sarah Wayne Callies as Jane, Mitch Pileggi as Tarzan's pappy and Lucy Lawless as, I believe, his sister. One of the contributing writers was Eric Kripke who went on to create SUPERNATURAL.

Thank you! And BTW...I should mention that Shaun Cassidy had something to do w/ the writing and/or production of:
Tarzan, The Mountain, Invasion, Cover Me, American Gothic , Roar and The Agency. Did you know that he discovered Heath Ledger?
