I can't remember if I was watching the premier episode of anything when it debuted. Seems like back then, there wasn't the hype machine as far as marketing like there is today. We kind of just "discovered" stuff. We just walked in to see Star Wars and knew nothing about it.
I do remember Kolchak being something I wanted to see, but I don't know if we got in on the premier. I do remember there being a bit of pre-hype commercials before the Tom Baker Dr Who's started on weekday afternoons.
