    SMDM New Discovered Outfit

    IMG_1255.jpgIMG_1257.jpgIMG_1257.jpg

As most of you know from my other threads dealing with the 6 million Dollar Man I enjoy collecting the really rare international items as well as the domestic releases.

This morning on eBay I found a seller offering this 1976 jogging suit that was designed for the 6 million Dollar Man 13 inch figure. I almost couldn't believe it because I've been searching for this jogging suit for years and years and years. There's very little known about these international outfits however I believe through my research that the majority of them were created in Mexico under Lilly Ledy.

The photos attached are from the auction but once I have the item in hand I'll be sure to post better pictures.

If anyone reading this thread happens to have the same outfit please feel free to post yours as well.

Above are photos of other international outfits from my personal collection that of been shown on this board.

First photo: In the center is the Aldens Exclusive release Air Force colonel's outfit. The two on either side though are what I believe to be Mexican Lily Ledy unlicensed outfits.

Second photo: the original Lily Ledy Steve Austin and the U.K. Exclusive Denny Fishers released blue track suit.

Here is my only Kenner Prototype cut & sew outfit which was created in 1976 along with the other Kenner US released suits. This never made it past this point and is one of a kind.

I always love looking at your pictures. I am pretty sure I had a chance to grab the orange/blue jumpsuit a few years ago and passed on it because I thought it was a Joe knockoff.

Thanks for the compliment. Understandable on the knock offs.

Technically the Mexican market was doing exactly that. These outfits are not license by General Mills/Kenner. I believe Lily Ledy and or other manufactures we're creating assessories for this figure in Mexico without permission. So they were actually upsizing costumes from other toy lines.

Clearly I am only referring to items that were not released as specialties in the UK i.e. the blue tracksuit.

Nice Collection! I like the way you have it displayed. I start out there but clutter always
                          seems to sneaks in.

I definitely know what you mean. I'm real selective I like to give items plenty of breathing room while still making them feel fun. So I don't add a whole lot to it when it comes to buying a really really really selective.
