Review: The Legion of Regrettable Super Villains

I had high hopes for this book on the worst comic book villains as being some comedy fun for us comic nerds. Unfortunately I think it's more trying to do too many things and failing at all of them. I don't find it snarky enough to be really funny, some of the entries I find questionable (How is Captain Black Bunny that bad in the context of Hoppy the Marvel Bunny?), and the history seems way to fluff or lacking (The Golden Age section is listed as the years 1938-1949 but the entry for the Black Tarantula is listed as 1950). In the end, it reads more like a mindless time waster. You would think it would be aimed at comic book readers, but I think only novices to comics will enjoy this.

I had thought I'd pick up the second book The League of Regrettable Superheroes next, but I'm reconsidering it after my lackluster response to the villain one.
