    Best Likeness?

    I got to thinking about this after reading the FTC Catwoman discussion...

    What is the gold standard for Mego likeness? Which is to say, in your opinion, what head sculpt of a real person does the best job faithfully capturing them in appearance and scale? Tell me your votes for Mego and Modern, Man and Woman.

    Men
    Mego: Nimoy Spock
    Modern: Romero Joker

    Women
    Mego: Grandma Walton
    Modern: Peg Bundy

    (surely there are better options than these...)

          There are some sculpts in the 66 line that are perfect like Joker and Freeze. Most of the Mego Trek line is dead on. As far as the ladies go, all I can think of is the Bride of Frankenstein.

                  Ali is a good pick. My tops are the Tin Man and Koenig as far as 8" goes.

                          I always thought David Soul's Hutch was pretty spot on. John Boy too.
                          I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

                                  I liked Kirk and Spock from the Star Trek line, and thought they did a good job also with Richard Thomas (John Boy)
                                  I also kind of liked how they did Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky)

                                      Most of the Mego figures based on TV or movie actors were really well done, I especially like Verdon and Burke from Planet of the Apes, The Star Trek crew, and 12 inch James Bond and Buck Rogers. I think those in particular have very good likenesses, especially considering when they were made.

                                          The Kirk was the best Shatner likeness ever until the recent QMX 12" version.

                                          The Tin Man is dead-on as well. Dorothy is perhaps the best female likeness.
