I planning to get up early on the 29th and wait in line at a local electronics chain (Fred Meyers) for the SNES mini. Worked for me for the Switch earlier this year.

Back in April, when Nintendo discontinued the hot ticket NES Classic Edition after just six months on the market, it prompted us to suggest in a headline that "Nintendo hates money." Someone at Nintendo must have figured out that money is good, though, because Nintendo announced this morning that the $60 plug-and-play retro console will be coming back to retailers "next summer."Comment

I'm never going to buy anything from Nintendo again. I'm sure they're shaking in their boots.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

On my lunch hour I decided to swing by my local Walmart out here in small town Oklahoma to see if I could luck into one. I figured I could at least tell myself I tried instead of sitting around wondering about it and low and behold, I was able to snag one. They never had any the last go around so I was pleasantly surprised.
Had time to play a little "Punch Out" while I ate some left over pizza before I had to come back.Comment

I'm guessing that they must have produced a lot more this go around because I never saw one in a store on the last run. I saw one SNES a few months back. Yesterday, there were 10 NES Classics left in the display case after I bought mine. I bet they were selling out quick in the metropolitan areas, but for a rural Walmart to have that many on-hand, it makes me think there are more available than last time.Comment

I was in the same Walmart today and I cruised by to see if they had any NES Classics left. There were two, but what surprised me was that they now had the SNES Classic in stock. They also got in some Atari Flashback 8s, Atari Flashback Portable, Sega Genesis Classic, and a Sega Handheld. Lots of choices for retro gaming!Comment
