That, I'll admit, was totally unexpected, but oh-so cool! They are really doing everything they can to make sure Capaldi goes out with a bang! I just wish he were staying; his Doctor is hitting his stride now. This, to me, has easily been the best season of WHO since Matt Smith's first season.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Good episode, lots of cool stuff. Loved the Ice Warriors digging themselves up. I wish they had done a two-parter with the Ice Warriors getting a little more "invasion style" action. They also look really impressive with their extra height.
And looking at the Martian landscape, you have to say "wow, Who has come a long way!". Great production values.

I did miss something. I didn't remember him from a previous episode. And I didn't see Return of Mysterio (not available for free and I am too cheap to pay 2.99 to see it) - What is the back story?

It's never been revealed exactly what happened, but, yes, Nardole is an android, or at the very least a cyborg. Whatever The Doctor did took place between "The Husbands of River Song" and "The Return of Doctor Mysterio."

"The Eaters of Light" was fairly entertaining. Capaldi great as always.
                Cybermen next week!

I think the new season sucks. The Doctor might be good, but I really don't like the supporting cast. Their attitudes and such are making me not want to watch anymore. I see others are liking it, but I can't understand why. The Doctor being pushed around by his new companion is kind of stupid. It's really pushing "agendas" that I don't think we need television trying to brainwash us with! The way the show is heading, I'd not be very sad if it was cancelled.

Last ep was so-so. I'm sure that kids will have liked it, but the story itself had little to say.
"Big monster that devours the universe, but you can beat it with a stick and some DIY mirrors and it will go away".
                    Not the most inspired storywriting.

It does have a couple of great lines.
The Doctor: "He died from a complete lack of sunlight. "
                    Nardole: "Death by Scotland."

                    Brilliant.

It was merely OK, not terrible by any means and like GC said there was some clever dialogue. I liked the idea that the characters chose their destiny and the Doctor was wrong. I grow to really like Bill, she stood on her own in a way we haven't seen a companion do in a long time.

Yeah, "Wold Enough and Time" was one of the best DW episodes I've seen in a fair while.
Part 2 promises to be awesome.
                              Consistently good season.

Why bother with a spoiler-free review? I enjoyed the episode, but I' really getting tired of DW stories built around a surprise return, and then they advertise and promote the surprise. How cool would this story have been with no promos of the return of the original Cybermen?

Just a little frustrated here . . . it just seems like they waste story space building things up we already know . . .
