Palitoy Talking R2 D2

I love it when I get a new catalog and discover something I'd never heard of. Take this Talking R2 D2 by Palitoy of the UK (Same folks who made this) . I automatically assumed it never got made but was happy to find this on Ebay.

It's kind of rare to find mint boxed but I did notice this kind soul put up a youtube video of how he sounds. What a neat toy!

I learned of that for the first time also last year as I was completing my set of 12 inch. Looks identical to the US version, but it talks! Must've been mindblowing technology back then.

Oh man, a boxed one of these has been on my list for years!

I was in London in 2014 and came across a boxed one of these at a Camden Market stall. I came close to getting it, but the box was beyond thrashed and the figure itself was in pretty poor shape as well with a high price tag. I passed.

I do hope to pick one up someday, though.
