Game of Thrones: Season 7

Yeah, they seemed to have invented teleportation. I'm not observant and to be honest, very easily distracted and i find myself going "heeeeyyyyyy, how'd they get there?" lately.

Yup - exactly how I felt.


SPOILERS:

Here's one nobody can answer for me - how long was the A-Team suppose to be sitting around on that rock? Previous to this season the show seemed to really care about establishing time, and now some of the main characters are in an event and we don't know if they were there hours or days or what. And that's just one odd thing about the last ep, but it really bugged me.

There's a lot of time issues in that episode... How fast can someone run back to the wall? How fast do Ravens fly, how fast do Dragons fly?

GRRM obsesses over that stuff, and it keeps him from publishing a book but once a decade. HBO seems content to run fast and loose... and the difference is palpable. To me, it really shows the fine line between a Game of Thrones and one of those cheeseball straight-to-VHS fantasy movies. I mean, the completely disregard of time and space, the chains from out of nowhere, the ridiculous video game-like 7 on 10,000 battle, the "frozen lake" action movie cliche, etc... it was all epic, but somewhat ridiculous.

But on the other hand... the CGI in that episode was incredible! Those dragons looked better than most feature films. Unbelievable that they can pull that off.

The Night King seemed to set up that encounter with the purpose of killing and turning the dragons, why else would he have 3 giant ice spears at the ready.. and I guess ice chains as well

But yeah, the whole "time" thing this episode was a total farce.

Maybe from the dead giants,they might have had a few to spare for just this instance....lol
I just ignored that part and pretended he was able to make him rise in my minds eye....lol

I've noticed things seem rushed in this season as well. That, or ravens in Westeros have been severely upgraded. They seem to be able to fly hundreds or thousands of miles round trips in... hours? They act more like cell phones than mail now.

Yeah, it seems once the show went off book last season things have gotten sloppy. And this season seems way to rushed, I miss the deliberate pace of the early seasons.

Dragonstone is a looong way from Eastwatch, Gendry got back to the wall way to fast, and where the heck did those chains come from, but hey, I'm just trying to ignore logic and enjoy the spectacle (eg. zombie dragon!)

The chains. Yeah - just heap that onto the pile of eye rolling scenes. I don't even understand why they had to pull the dragon out - doesn't the magic zombie spell just work as long as the body isn't burned?
