Oh, and when you bought his sketchbook, he drew the character of your choice inside:

Man, those are sweet, and even though I'm not a particularly huge Harley Quinn fan, JLG-L could make me one! That's the bees knees!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Damn, even in a relatively quick sketch mode, he does a killer Thor and I'd put his Wolverine up again pretty much anyone's (with the exception of John Byrne's since Byrne is the artist who made me really like Wolvie in the first place).

Got to meet the man a few years back. He was done sketching for the day, so I figured I'd stop by and tell him how much of a fan I was and buy one of his art books.

His wife is Argentinian and we had a cool conversation about mate' and Miami, in Spanish that left my husband standing there looking like a third wheel. He was a genuinely nice guy.

During the conversation he mentioned he was behind on his con sketches and kept working. As we were leaving he hands me an artbook and he does a quick head sketch of Superman on it, and again apologizes he couldn't do better due to time. I thanked him and told him he made my day... and then he just thanks me to speaking to him in Spanish.
