Probably about a half dozen boxes full. I've gotten rid of at least a half dozen more over the last five years or so. It's so hard to part with some of them.

And speaking of obsolete video formats, I probably still have about a dozen laserdiscs, at least two dozen HD DVDs and several VCDs. Hey, at least no CEDs or Beta tapes!

Just down to the last 3 with too much sentimental value to purge.

Unfortunately, about 100 or so. Haven't had a VCR (or DVD or Blu-Ray) for several years, but I can't give the VHS away... literally! I refuse to toss them, so they take up space in my storage room!

SEND YOUR VHS TO MY SISTER!!!!
My older sister recently got divorced and is having to be a big girl and do her own finances. She hasn't figured out how to fit wi-fi in her budget yet (which makes zero sense to me, I need wi-fi more than food) and only has a VCR as her form of entertainment. So if you want to get rid of them and do something nice (tax write off? I mean, didn't you pay like $40 when you bought that VHS tape? lol), I'm sure she would love the donations.
So one person on the planet has use for them.

Less than 50 VHS tapes inside my home. Mainly it's a sentimental collection of anime fansubs or other movies I've not replaced with a digital format. I no longer own a VCR. Many years ago I got rid my Go Video Dual Deck and other players that got past Macrovision.

I've never been an early adapter of movie tech. Only got into Blu-Ray in the last couple years. No 4k for me yet.

                    No comment on the numbers.

                    Aside from these VHS highlights:

El Cid (which took a very long time to hit DVD)
                    Star Trek Boxset (1-6 films)
                    A Bridge Too Far
                    Star Wars Trilogy Fullscreen
                    Dungeonmaster
                    Mazes & Monsters
                    Legend
Blade Runner Director's Cut (1992 or so)
                    Never Say Never Again
                    Big Trouble In Little China
                    Billy Jack Boxset
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (not on DVD at that time)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (could not find on DVD on release day)
2 versions of Star Wars Special Edition Trilogy
                    Star Wars Trilogy Widescreen

Me too. Does anyone know if the Star Trek blooper reel ever made it to any of the Blu Ray releases?

probably 500 - 750...but I buy to re-sell. You'd be surprised at what some VHS tapes go for. For some reason they have become collectables. Do research before you decide to get rid of you tapes. You might get rid of one or more that might be worth some $$$

Recently picked up my 3rd copy of Drop Dead Fred. Sold the 1st 2 for $20 each on ebay. This one cost me a whole 79 cents

Is that because it never received a DVD release? (which is perfectly understandable )

That reminds me, I used to work with a guy name Fred and after that movie came out, we started calling him "Drop Dead Fred" and he'd get mad. In retrospect, he probably had no clue about the film (he was an older gentleman) and he was probably thinking we were just big jerks and were wishing his death.

I did a HUGE purge of VHS tapes several years ago. Donated many of the movies to the local library, and just dumped the stuff I'd taped off of TV. I just ran out of storage room. I still have quite a few...considering I don't have a working VCR!

I sold off my collection years ago. But today I found a copy of Star Trek: First Contact with holographic cover hiding in my room. I also still have the original Star Wars trilogy when it was first released in widescreen.
