How many VHS tapes do you have in your home right now?
I have about 4 book shelves of VHS tapes, you can fit about two rows of around 20 in each space,
so I'm guessing around 250 at least.
I have just about every John Wayne movie maybe missing 2-3 plus other westerns and war movies,
sci fi, horror and comedy, super hero too.
But now most of that stuff came out on DVD and blu ray, so now I'm stuck with
all these VHS tapes that I don't watch, and just about everyone is store bought, so there
stil working fine, although I haven't checked in a while.
I have between 30 - 40. A few obscure things not on DVD for me, and the rest are fifty cent items for the kids that I couldn't pass up but would never buy on DVD.
About 10 retail movies plus about 5 tapes containing stuff I recorded. I got rid of a lot of my VHS cassettes in the early 2000s, only keeping rare titles or special editions.
A couple of SW box sets and maybe around a half dozen or so others.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
A few months back I made the decision to dump a huge portion of my VHS collection because the space they took up was more valuable than what they were. Now I kept anything that was musical or horror or something that I deemed collectible. But that left me with scores and scores of aimless, pointless VHS movies that I either have on DVD or Blu-ray or something I simply would never watch again in any format. So I would say I have under 50 now. There's no telling how many I threw out. I'm purging myself of allot of things.
I have maybe 30-40. most are Disney movies I never bothered to rebuy on DVD as my kids were starting to age out of that stuff. Have maybe 10 Batman TAS ones too from Columbia house. I mostly threw away the VHS tapes as I replaced on disc. I do have a couple VCR's still, just not sure if they all still work as they are very rarely used and I understand parts dry out and fail
40-50 probably. Couple of cool old rare Japanese VHS tapes for their covers, and a bunch of other stuff that's essentially garbage because I'll never watch it again in that format but I probably won't throw away anyway because "I might need that someday" mentality. I do have a working VCR I bought 8-10 years ago though, so I could watch some of this stuff again assuming the tapes still play but I never will.
I would guess about 40. I copied almost everything to dvd 10 - 12 years ago. There area handful of tapes that I never got around to copying and some that are not good enough quality to transfer to dvd, like I have all the old howard stern channel 9 shows on vhs, but quality is not good enough to copy. I have 2 working vhs players that I use to copy stuff once in a while.
