    Great looking Captain....

This is a really accurate looking 1/6 scale Captain Kirk head...Someone should try and shrink it to 1/9 Mego scale.

These Qmx figures are outstanding. I have this one, along with Spock and McCoy and look forward to more. They are Hot Toys quality, something Star Trek never had. But at $180 a pop, I'd be very hesitant to try to remove the head have someone do a 1/9 scale, especially when the Mego Kirk was the second best Shatner head sculpt already.

Agreed, he really is a good likeness of Shatner...

This may be a dumb question, but is it POSSIBLE to shrink a head that much?

I've never tried it myself, but there are people on this board who have shrunk heads to 1/9 scale, so yes, it is possible... (The guy I'm thinking of shrunk an original 12" GI Joe figure down to Mego scale...)

His is such a difficult likeness to achieve. That is really well done.

Aw man, if it is possible I am going to have to experiment with that one of these weekends! That would be really exciting to achieve.

Just to be clear, my understanding is you don't shrink the original... you cast the orignal and shrink the cast... and then cast that version and shrink it... wash, rinse, and repeat until you get it to the size you want. Acetone alone can't get you down that small.

To the best of my knowledge there's a few talented individuals in the museum that have experience in shrinking heads from 1\6 to 1\9 scale.
