Hey GB - thanks for the link. Yep, this is the epitome of 'mixed emotions'. Sort of like if your mother-in-law drives your new corvette off a cliff. It's my favorite of the Punishers, and potentially my favorite of the entire line so far...and it's so damn limited.

I have all three Punisher variants and love them all.

MEZCO's "eight per state" limited edition size seems extremely odd for a figure they knew for certain was going to be in high demand.

Has anyone tried putting mego clothes on these Mezco 1:12 bodies and what was your experience?

Definitely. I ended up buying the standard version for a normal price and used some white paint to make my own "Classic Punisher" in the style of their limited edition version. However, I'm not sure if or what the differences are in terms of the weapons/accessories included with the limited edition version.

MEGO clothes would be way too big.

You'd get the same result if you tried putting Mego clothes on a Marvel Legends figure.

A collector on Fwoosh forum took pics of Mezco Flash, and Reverse Flash, without the cloth costumes and they look like DC universe figures with better heads. My concern with these is cloth costumes look stretched to fit the bodies which could lead to rips in cloth over time, or stretched out costumes imo.

They won't tear, it's spandex...spandex is meant to stretch

Ah ok, that helps very much. With that in mind, I suppose any replacement clothes would have to be custom-sewn for the figure or perhaps altered from an existing Mego outfit. Regarding the material, I do feel a little safer when posing the figures with spandex outfits. Some of the outfits contain what appears to be vinyl over spandex and I'm a little weary of moving those, because of what could happen over time.

It's too bad that Mezco doesn't sell costumes for replacement if the the spandex gets worn
out, or torn, but than they make more money selling you another figure. Spandex is good but it can get stretched out over time. I have seen Mezco Batman with rips in the cloth on
                      pics on Fwoosh

Having separate, yet compatible outfits for sale is a great idea! I was really hoping that Mezco would also offer versions of their bodies separately, although that might defeat the purpose of buying a "deluxe" figure in that format.

Meh, I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about the outfits long term. All figures wear out, everyone dies...enjoy them while you can!

I have plenty of action figures from the 60's/70's that still look as good as they did the day they were released.

I expect quality. That's why I don't purchase certain figures from companies that use shoddy materials that quickly deteriorate.

I avoid Phicen seamless bodies like the plague.

I've got my original Mego Spider-Man from 1975 that still looks great. That was 42 year ago. I'm pretty sure I won't care what it or anything looks like 42 years from now. Which is actually damn scary if I think too much about it.
