Cure for Wellness is an excellent gothic horror flick

Cure for Wellness is my favorite horror movie in long while. It's set in modern times, but it is a gothic horror story and a good one. I had read some that some compared it to Shutter Island and The Shining, but any similarity to those film is surface only. Has more in common with horror stories/films like Island of Lost Souls or Dr. Moreau, Dr. Phibes, Dorian Grey, and Frankenstein as well as the early chapters of Dracula. It has sort of a Wicker Man feel, too, at least more so than the Shining or Shutter Island. It addresses issues like the economy, the aging of our society, familial stability. It's creepy, even nightmarish or hellish.

Thank you for the review. I had admired the commercials for this film and your opinion only makes me want to see it more.
