I love threads like this because I get to learn a little something about everyone that shares. There's a few songs already shared that would have popped into my head, too.

I'm such a nerd, and an easy crybaby. But this is some of the finest film music ever. Skip to 7:00 for the feels.

Bread - everything I own. I play this in tribute to each of my parents on the anniversary of their passing. it was written about the singers father after he had passed so I always find it very fitting

That's a really great song. I've been a big fan of it, as well. It certainly hits my heart strings.

Here's a live version (vocals and David Gates guitar) from the 70s:

Love Who Wants To Live Forever. That whole soundtrack is great. Gets me right in the feels. Although in the last few years Coming back to Life by David Gilmour is really bittersweet, specifically the version from Live at Royal Albert Hall.

I'm also really partial to The Outlaw Torn from the Load album by Metallica. Hard times while I was in college.

Love me some Harry Chapin. There's a man who went way before his time and, IMHO, way before he had even reached the pinnacle of his talent or success. Virtually every song of his tells a story, some sad, some not, but they almost all have a narrative.

A few other favorite Harry Chapin songs that not only evoke emotion, but make you do something modern music rarely does---makes you think...
