Looking like the issue is resolved for me... thanks, Joe! It would be great if some others could validate it is working for them too.

Uploaded avatar's still don't work for me on IE.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Werewolf, can you further explain? Do they not show up on IE, as opposed to another browser?

I get the same issue with the majority of avatars on IE. For instance on this page, no problems with Joe's or mine... but with all the others. I do not get this issue in Firefox.

Here is the browser's F12 console output:

Ok, a little more... this may be it. The image is sent with the following header:

                          x-content-type-options: nosniff
According to my friend Google, it looks like the solution may be to remove this content type options header.

They all show up when I switch to Chrome or browse on my Kindle Tablet and your avatar shows up and so does Sprytel's on IE. But the uploaded custom avatars, like mine, show up as a broken image X when I use IE.

When I inspect Werewolf's image, even though it has a .gif extension, it is really a jpeg. Paul's is a png. The browser is usually smart enough to figure out the real content type even if a file is improperly named. But I believe that "nosniff" header is explicitly telling IE not to try to sniff out the actual content type. So if you can't remove the header, you could fix the extensions on the non-gif images.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but hope these help resolve the issue.

In Googling this, I've found a fair amount of IE users having the name issues on all sorts of sites, not just vBulletin forums. Do you guys have the issues elsewhere as well? It's okay if you do, I'm still going to try to find a solution, I'm just trying to figure this out.
