PHP upgrade coming, please save your images from the Gallery

We need to upgrade PHP on the server, and there's a chance it may break the user gallery. Please download and save your photos, just in case. I'll do this on Thursday, so you have a couple days. Thanks!

my avatar disappeared, I assume because of the upgrades. will it come back? if not, how do I put a new one? it's been so long I cannot remember how to do it

For me it seems when I go to the user gallery to download images the screen is a mess. Things are all over the place and icons are missing.

When I try to upload a picture to a post, I get the error "This is not a valid image type".
Any suggestions?

I've never been able to post pics to the gallery

Just a normal .jpg like I've been doing for years.

second, I just tried to upload to a new gallery from my Profile page.
jpegs and png files give this error. I tried making them smaller, changing file
suffix from .jpg to jpeg, nothing error just keeps occurring.

Just linking from dropbox for now, seems to still work.
