Trailer looks intriguing and I look forward to Ridley Scott once again actually working with the actual Aliens. "Nature Boy" seems like an odd musical choice for the trailer, but I like the song, so I don't mind it.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

All looks to modern for me. I don't get the Alien vibe.
        So I'll pass.

Wow, that trailer is NSFW. Looks like more of a return to the 'style guide' of ALIEN, from which Prometheus so boldly departed. When they showed the crew, I felt like it was a movie I'd already seen. Still, I think Scott can provide some real white knuckle intensity.

            Where was Dr. Shaw?

I think I was hoping for something a little more fantastic(?), and I would have liked to see the travel of Dr. Shaw and David as the main storyline instead of another group of humans. More Engineers and their mysteries over the bio-warfare aliens, but I will definitely watch this. Heck, it has James Franco in it!

There's been a decided mixed reaction. Not negative, more confused. It has visual cues from Aliens, which to me is out of sync with the chronology/concept.

Years ago, Ridley said he would have done Alien3 if Cameron would have committed to Alien4. That's what this feels like.

Sadly this trailer did nothing for me...it all looks like the same stuff we've seen before. A couple scenes looked like re-enactments from the 1979 original. I'll still go see it regardless.

^^^ This trailer does nothing for me, too. In fact, this movie looks like it was directed by some hack director and NOT by Ridley Scott. Plus there doesn't seem to be anything new here. From what I can tell from the trailer we get another diverse crew exploring an alien planet where the usual events unfold (someone gets infected and gives birth to an alien, and people die off one by one) with the requisite screaming and gore.

I truly hope this movie is more than your typical monster-on-the-loose movie. I really hope Scott has some genuine surprises in store for us.

^Acro - From what I've read, the trailer is not representative for what goes on. There were stage shots early of the Engineers fighting the aliens...at a temple IIRC. The trailer looks to be redux teaser bait.

If that's the case, which I'm hoping it is, the teaser/trailer misses the mark. Maybe the next trailer in the next couple of months gives us a better idea what this movie is about. Because as it stands, it looks to be more of the same old, same old. I've encountered other people around the web that shares the same feeling about the teaser/trailer that I do.
