    Pray for Princess Leia

This is just horrible, horrible news... Carrie Fisher has suffered a "massive" heart attack. I can't even...

    http://www.tmz.com/2016/12/23/carrie...-attack-plane/

Can 2016 please, please just... stop? Just when it can't get worse.

Sad news indeed. Carrie Fisher has not been very easy on her body over the years but hope things turn out okay for her.

People just don't take care of themselves. I'm not judging her, just stating her troubled drug use over the years.

She was doing coke on the set of Empire...I'm sure that was not the first nor last time.

Your past eventually catches up to you.

I definitely really hope she survives this unfortunate event...although she might not recover fully...that was a massive heart attack.

Regardless of her past, I'm a fan...loved her as Leia...she will forever be part of my geekiness.

      Wish her the best...fingers crossed...

I just read this as well... Scary given she was on a plane at the time... I hope she pulls through.

scary is not even the word. I know she abused drugs and alcohol when she was younger and that definitely takes a major toll on the body. here's hoping for a Christmas miracle for her.

My guess, given the circumstances, this wasn't a cardiac arrest from standard arteriosclerosis. More likely I'm guessing this was a pulmonary embolism (blood clot from leg travels to heart and causes acute right sided heart failure).

Depending on any other medical problems she has, with proper care, she could bounce back from this.

The next 72-96 hours will be the most critical

                Damn

This has been such a terrible year.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Some good news...she's out of critical and upgraded to stable condition:

"Her brother, Todd Fisher, told The Associated Press that she was "out of emergency" and stabilized at a Los Angeles hospital Friday afternoon..."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Carrie Fisher is in stable condition after suffering a medical emergency aboard a flight Friday.

                    Thank goodness!

This quick upgrade makes me think it was not even a heart attack...

What is it w/ heart attacks and celebrity deaths this year? It seems to be the leading cause of death! Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Carrie.

Been following this story since it broke... so shocked.

Latest seems to be that her brother Todd can't classify her condition...

Todd Fisher told The Associated Press on Friday night that his sister was receiving excellent care, but said that he could not classify her condition. He had earlier told the AP that she had been stabilized and was out of the emergency room.

In a subsequent interview he said many details about her condition or what caused the medical emergency are unknown, and much of what had been reported was speculation.

“We have to wait and be patient,” he said. “We have so little information ourselves.”
                          PUNY HUMANS!

Also, let's face it, she isn't young anymore, and she was doing an international book signing tour, right?
We all know how much air travel takes out of you, and it's very tiring. Add her age to that, it's all hard on the system.
