Ape For Sale Custom Astro-Apes & Classic POTA Accessories

These require a little backstory… in the late summer fellow POTA collector Reptilesrmt graciously let me barrow an original Astro-Apes Warrior Ape's rifle for a casting project. Along with casting the other AA accessory – Artemus & Myra's box – I set out to fully equip the Astros in our collections. This turned out to be a very challenging project with the original parts cast in cheap blow molded plastics. It required several molds and many plastic/dye recipes with the expert help of my wife, who happens to be a professional mold maker & artist among other things. I poured and poured molds for months, with many failures (damn silly boxes!), to get a quality that we were happy with.

If you're unaware Astro-Apes accessories are incredibly difficult to find, either loose, or with a figure. In fact not every bagged AA were given accessories. The ones that were included rifles and boxes cast in the same colors as their boots, yellow, green and orange. There's also speculation that Dr. Zorma may have also been issued a book accessory, but no packaged version has been seen to verify this. You can view them in this thread: http://megomuseum.com/community/show...-fun-reference!

Without a true collaboration this project would have never happened, and I'm grateful. I am unaware that these items have ever been reproduced, let alone made available to other collectors to complete their Astro-Apes. They also make pretty cool accessories for other figures in the sci-fi genre.

Below are most of the extras that I have for sale; pricing info follows:

    [B]1. Astro-Apes Warrior Rifles - Green & Yellow - $10 each

    2. Astro-Apes Warrior Rifles - Misc. Colors (additional colors not pictured) - $12 each

    3. Astro-Apes Artemus & Myra Boxes - $7 each

    4. Classic Rifles from C-Monster mold - $6 each

    5. Classic Ape Feet from C-Monster mold - $10 each

    6. Cornelius/Galen/Caesar heads from C-Monster mold - $10 each

    • All items are cast in dyed Smooth-Cast 300/305. Minor imperfections may exist, but no major, ugly flaws. I'll pick you the best items available - first come/first served.

    • S/H = $4 for one to five items in the continental U.S.

    • S/H = $7 for six or more items in the continental U.S.

You won't find a gentler Ape to deal with on this Board than William. Thanks brother.
