    Aurora Creature WIP update...

Finished the figure last night...this has been a real challenge to paint. I used layer after layer of thin metallic glazes in blue, green, gold, and copper to replicate the iridescent look of fish skin. Very happy with the result...now on to the base!

Very nice! My son and I went with the "gold fish" look as well.

I made some major changes tonight...I wasn't happy with the way the light reflected off his abdomen, so I repainted it with a softer matte finish. I think it looks 100% better now. Also added a dark wash between each segment of scales to better define and separate them. Got half the base done also...

Love it. The revision looks better too. The CRTBL is my all time favorite Universal Monster movie. Have you done any new Batman 1966 models lately? I have only purchased Batman and Cat Woman, but plan to buy Penguin and Robin soon.

Great likeness! I am such a fan of your talents! I have always loved the Creature, and you truly do beautiful work. I'm certain you have seen these before, but if at all helpful, I had kept these couple of pics in my files as Creature reference material:

Thanks Mike! Those are the very photos I referenced for the colors I used. The blue around the eyes, the copper lips...I even gave the claws the rust colored staining at the base.
