    stop motion wgsh movie?

    has anyone ever tried this?
if it could be done in this day and age, I think it could be great!
maybe do it by scanning the figs (like the 3D GI Joe site) and using 1/9 scale dioramas but doing it all digitally?
you could even use custom figs for characters mego never made!
who knows, if licensing allowed it, maybe even marvel and dc together???
    hey I can dream, can't I?

Something like Robot Chicken skirts a lot of rights issues because it is parody which falls under fair use, and protects them. Someone trying to do a more serious version using other people's characters is liable to run into legal issues with rights, trademarks, cease and desist orders, getting things taken down, etc.

I would love to see stop-motion films made using Megos and custom Megos... No need to write scripts either, just use the stories and audio from the old Power Records adaptions... Apes, Star Trek, Super Heroes, etc...

MRP is probably right about the technical aspects of it all, but I'm with you C.H.O.A.M.-It'd be cool to see...

More parody I did a few years back, but made with Mego Trek.

Brilliant! I love the idea of having Megos "act out" old Power Records. This sounds like a great project for the Museum.

I second the thought of a power records movie. Wow, that would be incredible.

Speaking of Power Records, I just found in my house in the back room, the power record Spiderman vs. Man Wolf and its in clean mint shape, the records perfect.

I was actually shocked to find it, it was in a box with several comics, most being the very early issues Star Wars, with the further adventures
of Han Solo and Chewbacca after the movie, plus a team up of Iron Man and Jack of Hearts.

Was it this Iron Man issue?

I loved that comic as a kid, read it until it was dog eared and the cover fell off.

There would only be a rights issue is if it was heavily promoted and linked to monetization, like FB or youTube ads. A real prmotional push to make money.

The end results of vintage toys stop-mo to vintage recording would fall under parody. Parody doesn't legally mean absurd ridicule. For example, there's a dude who dresses like Spidey and does youTube basketball videos. He even plays Deadpool in one. These are full-on costumes and while they're funny, it's actually in the context of Marvel's sense of Spidey's humor. Like Peter Parkour, the freestyle climber who dresses like Spidey. Studios don't challenge this stuff because they let really brand harmful stuff, like porn parody, go right ahead and never CnD them.

It would be cool to mimic the style of the old Marvel cartoons from the 60's using stop motion but keeping it limited and matching up the power records for the soundtrack. There are free apps for IPads and tablets that allow kids to do stop motion, my son has one for his SICK BOTS figures and one for MINECRAFT figures also.
