I've never read more than one Sgt. Rock comic and I missed the toys when they were new but I really think they're neat....For more Fashion Mockery and 70's toy love visit us at Plaid Stallions.com
I remember seeing these and being disappointed that none of the figures really looked like Rock (torn or rolled ups sleeves, permanent 5 o'clock shadow), and there weren't figures of Easy Company like Bulldozer, Wildman, Ice Cream Soldier, etc.
I wasn't a huge Sgt. Rock fan, but he crossed over into the super hero books enough for me to be interested.
I liked those guys, always thought it was cool that the back pockets were open to hold stuff, even though i don't think anything they came with actually fit into those pockets. Maybe the knife fit? The playsets are cool too, small and simple but still good for creating a scene.
I never got into Sgt Rock when I was a kid. I always liked his appearances in Brave and the Bold though. I think that playset is awesome now. I have the DC Direct figure which is great. On the other hand my dad loved him very much so his comics were always around the house.
