    RIP Zacherle

Met him dozens of times, lovely man. So sad he didn't get one last Halloween.

I never knew his show but knew him from the "Horible Horror" VHS and he was the ambassador at Chiller Theatre. I never missed one of those in the 90s.

My favourite encounter with him was in a parking garage, i parked right next to his hearse. He popped out as i did and there was just such a funny energy to the man, he instantly made me happy.

Thank you for sharing that. Yes, that sums it up perfectly.

I'm very familiar his song "Dinner With Drac".

I believe he was the host of Chiller Theater in the 60s, (but I didn't start watching 'til the 70s). And I love Dinner With Drac, (I have it on,y K-Tel Looney Tunes album). RIP Zacherle. You had a good long life and you will be missed.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Anyone who is interested in Zach's recordings, should check out some of the links reposted from my reply to the Halloween Music thread two days ago:

It was in the Napster age that I discovered the recordings of John Zacherley, my personal favorite of all monster/Halloween music. The Horror TV host who originally recorded Dinner With Drac is gleeful, and sinister... like a Horror comic host who sings. His stuff is just the best. His albums are Spook Along With Zacherle, Monster Mash and Scary Tales, and the much later Dead Man's Ball and Interment for Two. I can't recommend Zacherle (Sometimes spelled Zacherley) enough. Here is his discography: https://www.discogs.com/artist/759128-John-Zacherle

I have to believe he'd want to leave this earth around Halloween...he embodies the spirit of the season. RIP Cool Ghoul...
