EMCE Box size

Probably a dumb question. I'm sure it has to do with shipping container size. Anyone know why EMCE went about an inch shorter on the repro boxes? They still display well in a LaserMego acrylic case, but it bugs me to no end!

I believe it's because they wanted the top half of Captain Amerca's head to be hidden.
