This kid's parent might have been an enabler.

Is there ever any such thing as "enough comic" though? That said, my comics at that age would have only filled a briefcase (and did, they were stored in an old brief case my folks got at a tag sale). Now however....

Man, I would've loved to have had some of the cool swag he's got up on his walls! And if his parents were enablers, perhaps they should have considered investing in some long boxes! LOL!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

The 1971 marvel poster is very sought after now. I remember getting outbid on one q number of years ago and the price gave me shellshock.

I see a Curtis POTA mags
        Iron fist
        Captain America #193 madbomb cover
        Mister miracle

He has some obscure titles there so I bet he was getting almost everything each month.

I am now living out the nightmare of my decades of comics collecting folly at this very moment. Toronto real estate prices do now allow for more than 900 square feet of living space, and my free storage facility (mom's basement) goes bye-bye this weekend. So I'm desperately doing a dance we call "The Long Box Shuffle". You know what I mean.

Meanwhile, my last three years worth of digital comics reading fits nicely on my keychain as a tiny usb drive.

I've heard of that long box shuffle. I really don't keep comics too long I read or display them then sell some when I get too many .
I never collected a whole run I catch misc issues as I find them.
If a book is in VF shape I do hang onto it though.

On closure inspection he has A Mego Spidey bank and must be an big FF fan. He's got the blacklight poster and various copies on piles. I wouldn't be surprised if he collected mego figures back then as well.

I think that boy could have sold much of what was in that room and bought himself his own home!

Look at the Atlas comics in there! That puts it at a very specific period in comics history.

Other than Gold Key Star Treks, Atlas books are my sole comics vice. They're like no name brand Dr Pepper, it's familiar but something isn't quite right.

^^ The Destructor was always my favorite from Atlas. If ever I was to make a off-brand custom, that would definitely be my first.

I love the Atlas books and am trying to track down the few remaining I don't have. The comics are relatively easy to find on the cheap, but the magazines are hard to find and tend to get pricey.

That really takes me back! I never had that many comics, but I totally get the vibe of hanging in my bedroom with my comics.

Augh - it's killing me, because I'm sure I've seen that image before, and I think that kid went on to become a comic artist — but I'm so senile now I can't remember much about it.

                              Anyway, great photo!
