Just wanted to mention that the awful Supergirl series is doing everything in its power to diminish and disrespect the great character of Superman.

Season 2 finale...called, Nevertheless, She Persisted.

This is all you need to know:

Supergirl fights Superman. Supergirl knocks out Superman unconscious. Superman praises Supergirl's strength as superior to his and returns to Metropolis.

My question...why in God's Green Earth does Warner Brothers/DC Comics allow this continuing travesty of rendering the wonderful Superman superhero character into a complete pansy and loser?

The character of Supergirl is just a second rate superhero compared to the original Man of Steel...yet they are doing everything in their power to swap importance between these two.

Worst show on TV by a QUADRILLION miles...believe it or not...I'd rather watch 10 years of Smallville than one single crappy Supergirl episode.

I liked season 1 of Supergirl a lot, and the Superman 2-parter early in the season was good. But it soon became the Alex and her new girlfriend show, and I lost interest quickly.

Puffing Supergirl up by diminishing Superman is ridiculous. DC/WB seem to have some secret grudge against Supes for the past decade or so. It's like after Superman Returns failed to be a mega hit, they got mad at the character. Maybe it was that and the Siegel/Shuster heirs coming after them.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Totally with you on our comments Hec and Chris. I also enjoyed season 1, but season 2 seems like it was completely agenda driven and being written by 15-year-old girls. I was really getting tired of how, practically every episode, they had to stop at some point in the third or fourth act and have someone tell Supergirl how really great and/or amazing she is. Having the big scene with Superman play out that way was just the bow on that package. I stuck with through this season, which started off great but I think got lost in its own self-important messaging as it ground on.

I shoulda known they were headed in the wrong direction when in this year's season opener it turned out the crashed capsule from last year's finale held a sleeping dude instead of Krypto . . .

Not only that...but the special-effects are getting cheaper and cheaper looking by the minute.

I can't stand that show...worst show on TV by a mile...think I'd rather watch Mama June's From Not to Hot, lol...

Both suck...there's no "better" here...like Chris said, there seems to be an agenda just to destroy Superman for some odd reason...which sucks in so many levels.

Now that I think about it, I'd rather have him as a killer than having a fellow Kryptoninan half his size beating him to unconsciousness...lol...

A lot of things went wrong this season...
• Too many aliens, way too many
• Mon-El was so bland they could have used a cardboard cutout and you wouldn't have known the difference
• Jimmy Olsen as Guardian. Ugh.
• Snapper Carr as Perry White/J Jonah Jameson?
• The underwhelming big bads: Lillian Luthor for the first half of the season and Rhea the last few episodes.
Granted, Teri Hatcher was enjoyable with what they give her to work with but the character was one note
• Stunt casting Dean Cain went nowhere. Was this plot satisfactorily resolved?
• Alex's love life. When a supporting character gets more press than the main character, what does that say about the direction and agenda of the show?
• The lack of Cat Grant. Great Rao, producers do whatever you have to do to get Callista Flockhart in the show more often!
• Superman, Superman, Superman...I think in hindsight I liked it better when you just texted Kara from afar. By this point,
she has single handled taken on a major portion of your rogues gallery. What do we need you for?

For any comic "fan" stating that Supergirl is more powerful than Superman in the comics, that isn't true. It was speculated by the characters in universe during the Pre-Flashpoint era, but was debunked in Supergirl #5 from March 2006. In it, they explain she comes off more powerful, because she doesn't know how to hold back. Clark does. He has more experience, more control over his powers, and when he goes full tilt, he's much more powerful than her. So please stop this nonsense.

@MPfly88...Exactly. Tyler Hoelchin is the weakest Superman ever depicted in either TV or film, he sucks. Casual fans have no idea how powerful Superman is, they don't know anything about his history. Silver Age Superman, Superboy, Prime, Superman Prime One Million, Kingdome Come Superman, Pre-Crisis Superman, and the most powerful Superman of them all, Cosmic Armor Superman (Thought Robot). The character of Supergirl has little historical importance...and is so derivative, created years later...she's a second rate superhero...Wonder Woman is way more popular. And this Supergirl show sucks, obviously meant for teenage girls. Horrible acting, horrible special-effects. Olsen as a hero is the stupidest thing Ive ever seen. Supergirl is garbage. Can't wait to see Wonder Woman though, a proper superhero...with a way finer actress, as supermodel-looking Gal Gadot, makes Melissa "I shot naked porn pics with my boyfriend" Benoist, look like an ordinary high school girl.

Ok let me break it down for people. I don't mind that Supergirl beat Superman in a show called Supergirl. You win some and you lose some so that is fine. My issue was that they kept harping on it. The made the point that it was silver Kryptonite so Superman was at full power and trying his best. Fine. Then again when Superman says that she beat him so she is the champion of earth, fine. Where I said, "enough is too much" is when Superman tells Supergirl that she is not only so much better than him but so much better than he could ever hope to be. **** OFF. This is overkill. It is like a frat boy trying to brag about all the women he has been with. He is insecure so he grossly exaggerates his claims and everyone knows it and it is pathetic. I thought there was a reason why he's called SUPERMAN, or at least at one time there was, DC now stands for Disgraced Comics, and (NO) Batman does not have a license to beat on Superman, and the same goes for Supergirl, Harley Quinn Wonder Woman etc, that's coming from the new generation dopes who make these comic book movies and tv shows because there bored with the old school way, so let's get ridiculous and turn Superman into a pansy. Superman is the king of superheroes, DC and Marvel, and I understand he's not the smartest or everyone's favorite, but he's proven since 1939 he's the most powerful, and can beat anyone in battle one on one, that's if you want to be realistic.

I got pretty tired of all the relationship/emotional stuff by the end of the season.
But I do find Melissa Benoist very cute.
