    Favorite Apes film?

Every Saturday I've been renting an Apes movie from my local Library. It's been a fun little ritual. I particularly enjoyed rewatching Escape From the Planet of the Apes. It was my favorite as a kid, even though it's uneven very fun for the first half and very dark for the end half.
Not looking forward to a repeat watching of Battle for and I can't remember too much about it from previous viewing. But can't turn back now, I'll give it a go.

The first film is by far my favorite, followed by Beneath, Conquest, Escape and Battle.

Love the first one best but have a special place in my heart for Conquest because it was the only Ape movie I seen in the theatre (actually drive-in) back in the day.

I'd choose the first one, followed by Escape.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

My favourites remain the first one followed by Battle.
Always liked Battle, even though most people consider it the weakest entry in the series.

Very fond of Conquest, Beneath and Battle. Those are always my "Go to" Ape movies.

The first one, for sure. I discover something every time I watch it.

Oddly, for some reason, Conquest is the next one I prefer watching. Maybe for all the summer airings on CBS when I was a kid . . .

King Kong on the Planet of the Apes, as soon as it is made. So until then I'll say the original POTA and Conquest.

                        That movie should have happened!

I know it's heresy, but if it weren't for the terrible casting of Marky Mark along with Estella Warren as the vapid eye candy fake Nova in Tim Burton's Apes movie, I think it would have been a pretty decent film.

Certainly not my favorite, but worth mentioning.

The first one for me. Escape would be my second fave, but on the whole I do like them all.

I really like the first three. I think those are the strongest in terms of story and suggestion of continuity (even under extreme circumstances like Escape). I do like Conquest but it gets buried under a slew of social metaphors that make it a bit top heavy for me. Battle is fun but has a noted decrease in production values. You could tell they were working with a shoe string budget in comparison to the other installments.

First one is the best, but I enjoy them all, even the TV series.
