The card art alone make those great for Halloween.

Looks like they're trying to branch out of licensing. Is this the first test?

That Snake Tut figure looks like he'd fit in well with the 80s GI Joe stuff.
The final mutation of Cobra Commander? COBRA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA!!!

These are actually pretty cool, I like snake tut the best, now if somebody could do a custom 8 inch snake tut
and team him up with king tut, I think Batman would have his hands full.

Are the Midnight Specials more of a limited edition release in some way?

I see they are still available today for sale. I'm also seeing the white version singles popping up from SDCC.

I bought a set. The Super 7 designers really "get" the 3 3/4" retro aesthetic.

Well, they got me with their cryptic facebook post: "There are a LIMITED quantity of The Worst sets still available! The most villainously vile vermin ever assembled lurk in the shadows and plot their evil deeds. What's the worst that could happen?"

Didn't want to miss these guys so I bit the bullet. My paypal account is hurting now.

I love these guys, and love Super7, but the idea of infinite repaints lessens the appeal of these figures. Oddest is that we still don't have the orange suited Batula pictured on the back of the card. I may not be up on the "urban toys" nature of repainting figures for premium boutique prices, but this wave is a turn off for me. At least sell them individually, so that if there's one or two repaints you favor, you can choose. No way I'd plunk down another $100 for these.

I think the repaints are okay for people like me that missed out on the first batch. however i think your right about letting us be able to buy them individually I would have had the couple from the first set had they done that when i could not afford the whole set.

^^ Singles have been available in multitude of colors (included the orange Batula) for months from Asian sellers. The info is a little sketchy, but I recall reading several versions were toy show-specific releases/exclusives. I had to have the glow in the dark Batboy; he's killer!

                                I love them too.

I watched a movie yesterday that reminded me of the concept. It's an 80s gem called Neon Maniacs. They're sort of like evil demented Village People.

                                Check out the Trailer here:
