So far I love the writing and where this is going...on Ep 3...

Waiting to see this (Old School) Episode:

BTW...I LOVE how these Netflix Series are capturing the 'Feel' of NYC...not the violence...but the feel of NYC Life...and the Soundtrack is spot on...Lovin' It!!!

The wife went out of town for a girls' beach trip, so I'm bacheloring it this weekend. Made it through 4 episodes and it's incredible, especially the origin story. Would have kept going, but remembered I'm a bachelor this weekend and decided to hit the basement and listen to some tunes and drink some cold ones (that's what old guys do when the wife is out of town, right?). I'll probably do a few more in the morning before football starts!

I like these series better than the movies. More to watch and better stories.

I'm really digging the show, it feels like blacksploitation but in a total modern sense.

You hit the nail on the head...exacto mundo.

            I'm on episode 5 now...really digging it.

            ***Slight spoiler***

Right after Luke acquired his powers, and just having escaped prison...what a nice treat him seeing him wearing his old school polyester yellow shirt and man steel tiara...still in Afro mode too...that was pure funky coolness...

I'm six eps in, and I'm pretty "Meh" with it at this point. There have been issues for me with all the basics.. character, pacing, tone, dialogue.. you name it. As I've said in the DD and JJ threads, these shows could benefit from being just 10 eps instead of 13.

I'm super smitten with Charles Bradley and my new favourite song.

Yup, the music has been great - this was the strongest scene in the show so far for me:

                        Warning: Mature language

I just finished all 13 episodes...and while there were some slow paced, and sometimes unneeded scenes (like the protagonist female cop being questioned by her own peers)...overall...I liked it...the actor playing Luke Cage is likable...and the bad guy...no. Not Cottonmouth, yes, he was bad... but nothing compared to Diamondback...that was one crazy arze dude, lol. The sneaky Shades was also a very good villain...and the crooked politician lady...Luke Cage had outstanding bad guys.

Rosario Dawson has a great gig going on...appearing in all the Superheroes shows...you can bet she will be in both Iron Fist and the Defenders as well...

Funny, but Mike Colter should've been credited first...and they left out the Diamondback actor...

In the original, the older "parents" characters were introduced first, so they stuck to that..
