    MeTV FTC commerical

Surprising as it may be, I watched "Emergency!" on MeTV this afternoon. Well, "Mama's Family" came on after that and while I was on the phone, I looked up to see a commercial/advertisement, by MeTV, for FTC figures. What I caught of it showed Gilligan's Island, Batman '66 and WGSH figures.

I love it. It seems like a brilliant marketing move.

              Welcome!

Believe me, if I hadn't been on the phone, at the time, I wouldn't have seen the commercial because I would have long since changed channels.

A national venue that is selling FTC's product; that's not bad. MeTV plays on digital around here, as well. And the channel targets the exact audience FTC is looking for, so I imagine there will be at least some interest in the product. Be interesting to find out if FTC approached Me about selling the figures, or if Me approached them.

It's so nice to finally see a commercial for retro figures. I hope it builds a new market.

It's based in Chicago but is nationally distributed by MGM through local market multicasting for NBC/CBS/ABC/FOX/PBS and digital tuner airwaves thanks to the FCC conversion from a few years ago. One of your local channels just bought the MGM license and opted to use MeTV to provide it's schedule.

Here's the link to the national MeTV page (our local affiliate has this link on their Facebook page)

                            http://www.metv.com/

there's a search function on the page where you can enter your zip code and find local carriers of MeTV programming near you. You can also get their full schedule there, access their shop, and sign up for a newsletter that provides programming updates. It also has a music function to hear music contemporary with some of the shows they carry.

If you know your local carrier, they probably also have a page with more relevant info to your market. The MeTV affiliate in Dayton is tied to WHIO, one of the oldest channels in the state and also provided Ohio specific nostalgia programming as well as the MeTV slate of shows for instance.
