    Pod Stallions 46: SCTV

We're back with a new show discussing something near and dear to our hearts.

Episode 46 opens with a tribute to the late, great Gene Wilder and then we move into what is Brian's favourite television show of all time, SCTV.

We talk about the show's Canadian origins and inspirations, what made it's comedy special and the many unsung heroes of it's 8 year journey on television.

Along the way, we discuss the many sketches, actors and characters that made us love it so. The best of all it's in 3-D!

Hit us up on our facebook page and tell us what your favourite SCTV sketch is!

Yay it's back. The podcast cuts out/ends midsentence at the end, so not sure what happened there. And Lenzi semi-acknowledges he costs me money with every podcast

We had a real bugger of a time with the recorder cutting out. Drove me crazy.

Looking forward to listening. I caught SCTV on TV Land or Nick at Nite back in the late 80s/early 90s and really enjoyed it.

I think SCTV was funnier than SNL was at the time and has aged a lot better.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I agree, they went less topical by creating their own little universe and that survives better.

Although to both my kids, it's some weird "old man" show they don't get.

Bowery Boys in the Band, who cannot laugh at that? First-run, it went mostly over my head. Later, I'd seen the film and found the skit hilarious.

A subject matter I am relatively unfamiliar with. But I will give it a listen, sometimes those topics are the best one everything I hear is something I didn't know. I take it Second City was the Canadian SNL.
