Dang, that's some serious goodness there. I might spring for the Universal sets, Curse of the Werewolf and Brides of Dracula, even though I have these (and many of the others) on DVD already.

The originals have already been released separately Phil...these sets contain all the sequels. Other Than Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, the Wolf Man and Abbott and Costello, the others are all new to Blu-ray. Hope that helps.

I just realized that Hammer set is the exact same one I have on DVD...but it's a great set. The only movie I wasn't really crazy about was Kiss of the Vampire, and that's just because it was below Hammer's normal vampire standards (of the 60s, anyway). Paranoiac is a truly disturbing movie. Oliver Reed is fantastic in it.

That's cool to know, although I already have all the Universal legacy collection movies on remastered dvd's,
I might pick up the Blu-Ray Frankenstein legacy set and Return of Godzilla on Blu-Ray sounds interesting too.

I wonder if they will release the Mummy legacy on Blu-Ray?

I wonder if Godzilla 1985 will feature the uncut Japanese version with Japanese dialogue?

The rest I'm torn on. No studio of merit has put out the Satanic Rites of Dracula yet... It's just the same damn titles over and over. They'll have to offer that collection at the right price for me to bite on the same old titles yet again.

The Universal stuff is what I'll probably have trouble avoiding. I got that blu-ray set they released awhile back, featuring Drac, Frankie, Wolfman, etc... as well as the complete Universal Monsters DVD boxset. But if these complete sets get good reviews and come at an even remotely sane price, I might have to shell out for them.

Is that the first DVD release for Godzilla 1985? I remember a US Goji boxset years ago, but I thought the only complete one was available in Japan.

Eventually, Miramax will finally go under and that will free Biolllante from the Weinsteins fat-fingered grasp.

Here are two other bargain priced Hammer sets that many will be interested in:

                              https://www.amazon.com/The-Two-Faces...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

                              https://www.amazon.com/Hammer-Film-D...TMJNJ1K364TXPJ

I've been thinking we ought to start a Blu-Ray / Home Video thread that we can keep adding and updating. I collect quite a few blu's.

Does anyone here visit blu-ray.com often? The message boards there are pretty useful, especially for horror, grindhouse, euro-horror, and trash cinema releases from niche labels like Code Red, Kino Lorber, Scorpion, Arrow, Scream Factory, etc. You can also keep track of your own collection using their online database.

Anyways, I'm there a lot, and would be happy to share some of the oddball releases that interest me and may interest other children of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
