    Chrome parts, chroming parts

I was thinking about getting a chroming kit, to make some shiny chrome figures and accessories. Bulletman helmet and arms, guns, car grills, bumpers, mirrors, buckles, and whatever else you can think of.
Is anybody interested in having stuff chromed? It looks like it would be fun to do, but it's expensive, so I don't want to waste the cash if nobody wants anything chromed.
I know others have had parts chromed from the museum, but I don't know their sources, so I was wanting to try myself.
I could also re-chrome stuff like old Micronauts heads that have had the chrome worn off.
It's over $250 for a kit that doesn't chrome all that much, so I'd have to be able to make some money back if I was going to buy it.
Let me know if you are interested at all.
    Thanks.

I would be interested Lonnie! I would love to have a 1:9 scale Bulletman figure in my collection. That's a lot of chroming to do (arms and helmet) though. Will need the bulletman helmet in scale first. Anyone herein willing to help a brotha?

          The helmet is available.

I have one somewhere that I'm sure I can't find. I also got a head, but it was too crappy to consider using. It seems real easy to do the chrome the way it's done in the video I posted. And a whole lot of little parts can be done at one time.

I've used this service several times with good results, on Bulletman parts and other GI Joe items. He charges by the piece, $12 IIRC, with a surcharge for gold-tone.

I'm curious about the process you're considering, Lonnie. The hydro video is impressive, I wonder how durable it is?

The link is showing me a full figure, not just the helmet. I'll love to be connected with someone who makes and sells them...

The link was just to show what people are making with what's available.

Look at the link from the 2008 archive on the same subject. Hard to think it has been 8 years ago!
I was talking to a company today about plating some parts --- Has anyone ever done something like this? I want to compare note with what I was told. And is 5 dollars a part reasonable?

Darn that was a long time ago...
Don't be sorry. How would you know? You've been watching MTV all your life.

Can someone point me to the maker of that 1:9 Bulletman helmet? Maybe one of the talented customizers herein? Thanks in advance!

Not a lot of interest in chrome stuff, it looks like. I want to make some chrome items, but it's too expensive to not make something to sell from it. Is Bulletman the only thing anybody would want chromed?

When I have finished shrinking a 12" Destro head I would like to get the final 8" casts chromed but, that's going to be a couple months from now.
