MEGO Unproduced Lines

For some of the old timers we know about some of the lines of Mego figures that were planning on coming out. One of those line that was supposed to come out in 1979 was based on the movie Grease. From the ad sheet you can see that the line were to release Danny, Kenickie, Sandy, and Rizzo 8 inch figures along with Grease Lightning. If these figure would have come out it would have given John Travolta 2 figures (the other would be for Welcome Back Kotter). Grease Lightning is the same car that is used in Happy Days Fonz Garage.

I'll have to ask the Mego Employee that I met, which in the next couple of weeks will be going back to see and speak to, if he saw these when they were setting up Toy Fair back in the day.

the unproduced line I'm kind of fixated on is I Dream of Jeannie, mostly because I'm fixated on Barbara Eden from an early age.

The extended line of Muhammad Ali boxers like carrot kid, etc are the ones I most want to have.

Grease figures would have been pretty cool. It would be neat to see what happen to those prototypes.

I'm always hoping Thundarr prototypes will turn up. I was always surprised, as a kid, there were no Thundarr toys. I also wonder how Mego would have done Dungeons and Dragons had they not lost the license to LJN.

Grease I think would have been pretty successful line, maybe for girls more than boys, but Travolta and the hotrod would have been boy wanted,
too bad about this, Olivia Newton John would have had a mego figure.

I never knew about mego grease,thanks for sharing.the only unproduced mego line I knew of was greatest American hero.
