Even though all I'm seeing is a big, black rectangle, I was able to watch this on YouTube.
If the wireframe ship near the end of the clip is, indeed, the new design for the DISCOVERY, then I gotta say I'm much happier with it than I was with the previous, McQuarrie inspired starship which, to me, looked a little clunky. If the wireframe is any indication, this ship looks like it shares DNA with the NX-01 which I am happy about because I really liked the design of that ship, even if it was pretty much way ahead of Kirk's ENTERPRISE design-wise.
Looking forward to seeing more of this as the production progresses...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

Discovery will premiere on Sunday, Sept 24, at 8:30 on CBS. Subsequent eps on CBS All Access. The season will be split into halves, much like the Walking Dead does..

I have ZERO interest in this show. But if I'm not mistaken, each season will be different...like a different era, different crew, etc...

I hope the new show is good, I would hate to see Star Trek fade away again. I do wish the new show took place in a different time period though, they went with ten years before Kirk but seem to be ignoring anything we know about that time. Just from previous shows we know what the uniforms should look like, certain characters like Pike, Spock, Captain Garth, and even pre existing ships. I think ten years after Kirk and crew would make more sense if they want to focus on new ideas and designs.Comment

I'm really looking forward to this. What I've seen and heard so far looks and sounds good. The only negative for me would be Klingons as I never liked them. Hopefully there's not TOO much of'em,lol!Comment

The emblem they wear on their chests is the wrong insignia for any ship but the Enterprise! It isn't an universal emblem that the entire federation wore, it was only the Enterprise. Therefor, this isn't canon original timeline. It's an abomination...Comment
