Glad to hear you're enjoying it, Hec. The Duffer Brothers definitely hit a nerve with ST. I still go back and watch episodes over and over because the story is good, the time period takes me back to my younger days and the casting of all the characters is spot on.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Yeah, it's like the Goonies meets the X-Files...and as you said, very nostalgic...I grew up in a similar setup with similar friends...I get the very same feel for it as you do. Definitely has a very Steven Spielberg vibe going on...like his depiction of kids and neighborhoods like in Poltergeist, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. etc...

        Great show...

I saw this thread this morning and it was my catalyst to finally watch this show my kids keep telling me about. I binge watched the whole thing today. loved it. I was about the same age that year so it really hits home. well written show and those kids are really terrific actors. I cannot get over how much Eleven looks like a young Carrie Fisher

I'm going to finish the last two episodes after the Raiders finish dismantling the Panthers...

I am starting to think you really have a problem Hector.

ps, while I don't hate Chandler Riggs like you, I do agree he has no range in his acting. but he is a kid and I give him a pass for now. these kids on ST can really act

Except I don't think ANY of Spielberg's child characters has the #%*%#+ potty mouth that Dustin has! LOL!

Mathew Modine's wig was really distracting though wasn't it? I mean that big poofy white hair and side burns on his thin face just looks weird

The same could be said about Eleven's own wig, ha.

                          Thank you, Raiders...

                            Thank you, Raiders...

To tell you the truth, I never really paid too much attention to "Papa's" hair or sideburns. They showed only enough of him for his character to remain aloof and somewhat mysterious, sort of similar to Cancer Man on THE X-FILES, minus the eternal MORLEY cigarettes. And Millie Bobbie Brown, wig or no wig, is just adorable (and quite smart, I realized, after watching her interact with Stephen Colbert on his show). I have a feeling she's going to be going places in the future.
