    robin zombie

    within the last week the neck on my robin has gone grey .why after so long and is there anything i can do to stop it spreading.

    The same happened to me. My Mr. Mxyzptlk has a small grey stain in his face that wasn't there before. I'm not going to do anything against it as long as it won't become bigger.
    I think heat is a reason, as I'm living in a room directly under the roof where it is really hot in summer. Could you put a pic into this thread?

      Light is usually the culprit, I had two sets of Star Trek 12" figures, one set on display in minimal light, the other set packed away in the dark. The display set slowly turned grey over several years, the ones in the dark still look perfect.

        it has been really warm in the room but i keep blackout curtains closed.none of the other figures around it have turned grey.i'll post a picture tomorrow.

          I guess it's possible that heat could also start the breakdown of the dyes in the vinyl. Not all Megos turn grey, only ones made from a bad batch of vinyl in the late 70's, this includes some later Robins I'm afraid.

                  Heat and humidity are also culprits in the "Zombie" look.
