Another Polistil Catalog for the WWII Line

I recently got another catalog for the Mego/ Lion Rock WWII line.
It's from Italian distributor Polistil and it's different from the other catalog
that was already shown here (see http://www.megomuseum.com/lionrock/lionrockcatalog.html).

It's much thinner than that other catalog (only 8 pages), but there are a few interesting pictures in it.

The cover features a picture of the British Desert Rat:

Most pages list 6 figures. This is page 2:

The first figure (AV 1) is one of two soldiers that were never released, as far as I know.
It's the "Alpino" - an Italian soldier - and only an artwork is shown:

It's the same artwork that is used in that other catalog, and so far I don't know where it comes from.

The other pictures on the page are the same photos of (prototype) figures, that are in the other catalog, too.

      Page 3:

Figure "AV 8" is the second of the unproduced figures, the "Bersagliere":

Again there's no prototype, just an artwork, for that figure.

Nothing new here. But it's interesting that no photo of the German Paratrooper is shown, only the box artwork.

Now this is interesting. Who is this?

It's supposed to be the "US Officer", but it resembles the "French Tank Commander" (but with an "American" face)
and the name is different too ("Commandante Carro Armato Americano" = "US Tank Commander" ?).
That other catalog shows the release version of the figure:

(But the name "Commandante Carro Armato Americano" was kept. It's also on the box.)

And for the Anzac Bush Fighter there is an artwork, but it's not the box artwork:

It seems to be an artwork based on the photo that is used in the small catalogs that came with the figures:

I wonder why they didn't simply use the photograph, but instead created this artwork?
(Or was it the other way around? Was the artwork first and the photographer tried to recreate that image?)

                Page 6:

Three of the artworks are those from the back of the boxes.
But the one for the US Frogman is not taken from the box:

Like the artwork for the "Anzac Bush Fighter" it seems that it was created specifically for the line.
Again, it resembles the photo from the small catalog:

Not very interesting. Just the two box artworks for the Russian Officer and German Mountain Trooper.
It seems that for some of the figures they didn't have photographs ready when this catalog was created.

Well, that's it. What do you think?

These WWll Lion Rock soldiers are classics, a complete collection of these in mint condition is a Mego collectors dream
especially the German soldiers wearing blue jeans.

I would love to see a company like FTC remake these figures, but in the 8" format.
Now that would be a dream come true.

It would be nice if a modern company remade these, it would help fill the void GI Joe has left for military themed figures.
