for me X-Men Apocalypse was enjoyable. No better or worse than any of the other X-men movies by Singer. Same complaint as always... lots of fan service but very little character development or even character defining moments for the dozen or so X-Men running around yelling and punching each other. Also the retread of the Professor X/Magneto relationship does kind of wear really thin six movies later.
I think the issue is that the bar has been moved much higher with stuff like Civil War, so the audience expectations are much higher.Comment

Haven't seen it myself yet. But to me, it was awesome when my 12 year old daughter came home RAVING about it. I had never gotten around to showing her the original. (I know, I know), so for her, this was HER Ghostbusters. I love that she had that fresh cinematic experience.Comment

started watching it, saw maybe 3/4's and stopped. although there were some funny scenes this movie really stinks.Comment

Forgot to weigh in on this. The film is nothing too memorable, really. I thought most of the performances were pretty reigned in to be honest.
However...
I watched it in 3D on a projector, and I've NEVER seen 3D do what this film does. When things get going in terms of action, certain objects "break free" of the black bars of the letterboxing. It's hard to describe, but the proton streams and other effects actually extend beyond the frame and out into the black "neutral zone" of the top and bottom of the screen. Absolutely stunning effect. I've never seen anything like it. I'm surprised it isn't mentioned more, but if you have 3D, that's the way to see it.Comment

I caught it now that it's on cable, too, and I gotta say I was majorly underwhelmed. Felt like the timing was off the whole film. I mean the comic timing. Everything seemed forced and fairly lifeless. I like all the actresses, so I was practically willing myself to like it, but it just fell flat.Comment
