Just got back from Ghostbusters...spoiler free review!

    Who ya gonna call?

    These ladies!

My wife and I both loved it. Don't believe the negativity and bad press...this was a fun movie. It was far from the trainwreck people are expecting. The cast all felt right together...being made up of mostly SNL members like the original certainly helped. The story felt fresh and familiar at the same time, and truthfully felt like less of a copy of the original than The Force Awakens did...at least to me.

The ghost FX were great, and there were plenty of cool nods and cameos. The villain in this one was an interesting angle not present in the original film, in which stuff just happened. In this version, it's happening for a reason. They definitely set it up for a sequel, and I hope the film does well enough that it happens. I want to see more of these Ghostbusters doing their thing in their own unique style.

The entire theatre we were in really seemed to enjoy themselves. My only real complaint was the new Ghostbusters theme song can't hold a candle to Ray Parker Jr.'s. They should have just stuck with it.

Liked it, too. Thought the women and Hemsworth were all funny. I liked the first half better than the second, which is to say I liked when they were talking more than the action part.

I enjoyed it a great deal. Thor steals the show.

One thing that doesn't sit well with me is the Critics are giving the movie a much better rating than the audience. For a sci-fi movie that is unheard of. I have no interest in seeing this but that seemed Orwellian to me. The media shouldn't be telling you what to like.

I think there are a lot of the general public who rated it without seeing it. There were tens of thousands of user ratings on IMDB and other sites before anyone saw it. There was a lot of hate for it from the get go.

And I'm not a super defender for the movie. I thought it was passable entertainment. I have run a movie theatre for years and everyone coming out generally likes it. It was all the negativity that preceded the movie that hurt it.

Heck, I didn't even see X-Men Apocalypse at the theater, I'll go Redbox for that one too.

Civil War was the last one I've seen at the movie theater.

X Men Apocalypse wasn't worth the ticket price, if I had paid.

I wanted to see x-men but my girlfriend wasn't interested I heard it was ho-hum but 50/50 reviewed movies are sometimes really good. It's an X-Men film so of course I'm going to watch it atleast once. Now Batman v. Superman I heard it was a s*** show so I'm not expecting much.

Yeah...the Jennifer Lawrence's X-Men doesn't really interest me much...and that's what the X-Men has turned to...a Jennifer Lawrence flick, with Mystique being the main character...get the hell outta here with that crap, lol...

I was prepared to hate the new G'busters, but all of the good reviews have swayed me. I'll try to see it in the theater.
