For some reason I've never uploaded this commercial to YouTube, yet I transferred it ages ago. A cleverly repurposing of their "Flying Aces" toys, the Viper Launch station was a really cool way to play Battlestar Galactica.

One of my favorite BSG toys from this era was the 12 inch Cylon. Simple in construct but I loved the light up scanner feature. Still have my original in great working order.

Those vipers were cool, they flew more like darts than planes because the wings were so small, but I had those and a bunch of the flying aces toys. All the Mattel Galactica toys were cool!

I had something similar to this that wasn't a BSG toy, but a blue 'aircraft carrier' with Styrofoam jets.

That's a cool print ad showing the first BG stuff that Mattel could rush to market by repurposing previous toys of theirs.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of that toy too. I always wanted one as a kid, I remember staring at them in Kmart with longing. Never got one until I was an adult though, he's awesome!
