Same thing w/ Big Jim's Sports Camper and Barbie's Country Camper. Same thing, different colors. Even most of the accessories were the same.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

They didn't even change the sink and stove. When Big Jim got Barbie's Corvette they at least added lasers. A ton of Barbie stuff got repurposed for Big Jim.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Jim's trusty dog was busy with the avalanche patrol at the time.

Yes, some of it quite cleverly. The Karate Studio and Safari Hut are genius.

I'm working on slightly customizing the early Barbie Dream Boat into a boat for Big Jim and his buddies. It worked for the plane...

Wasn't the Olympic ski jump also shared? And the chair from the Barbie version ended up in the Space: 1999 playset!

That looks like a slight retooling of the faces from the Double Trouble Big Jim they made in the 70's as part of the PACK that could change from calm to an angry face.

Just goes to show how out of scale barbie's vehicle's are. Most are closer to Mego scale frankly.

They work well for Big Jim but the 70s and 80s stuff is really a bit too big for Mego. If you put a Mego Batman in Barbie's 70 Dune Buggy he will look like a little kid pretending to drive his parent's car.

That didn't stop me from picking that orange dune buggy up at a yard sale. Peeled the flower stickers off, and then "Today, Speedy Buggy Meets Batman and Robin"!
