I think a longer tool would be better. You could push the hair all the way out the bottom and put a knot in it. Then no glue would be needed.

^^^ I do that with a longer needle and just hit it with a flame to mushroom out the end so it won't pull thru.

That's what I do. It looks just as fast as the video plus you lock the hair in as you go.
